Rabbi Ohad Ezrahi
Rabbi Ohad Ezrahi is
the founder and the spiritual director of Hamakom Intentional
Community and Retreat Center in the Judean Desert, Israel (www.hamakom.org.il).
He was born in 1965 to a secular Israeli family and grew up
as an atheist. His spiritual journey led him from an interest
in Zen-Buddhism to the core of the ultra-Orthodox Kabbalistic
and Hasidic world in Jerusalem. After teaching Talmud, Kabbalah
and Jewish meditation in several Yeshivot (traditional Jewish
academies) he left this world to seek a new way. He studies
philosophy, literature and religion in the Hebrew University.
Ohad was ordained by Rabbi Zalman Schachter-Shalomi as a Rabbi
and a spiritual leader. In 2000 Ohad received a Rockefeller
fellowship as part of the "Science, Gender and the Sacred"
program in the University of Oregon. He is an author of several
books in contemporary Jewish mysticism and spirituality. In
the last several years he has been teaching Jewish Wisdom in
Israel, India, Europe and the U.S.

need is to
